Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor
Thorium is readily available and can be used to create energy without generating transuranic (long-lived or harmful) wastes. Kirk Sorensen is the leading champion of this technology that was developed and proven along side the current nuclear process in use today.
Liquid Fluoride Thorium Reactor or LFTR reactors are thousands of times more efficient that current reactors, require no expensive to manufacture fuels and produce virtually no harmful waste over their lifetime.
Whether we accept it or not, this is the technology is the ONLY path to our sustainable future and China is in the process of building over 50 of these reactors today using information and research done in the US in the 1970′s. If Canadian and US governments do not start investing and building this technology we will be buying this technology from China in 10 years.
