A Country of Laws Jails It’s Criminals. White Collared Included.
We are a country of law. There are contracts. The government cannot just abrogate contracts. Every legal step possible to limit those bonuses is being taken by Secretary Geithner and by the Federal Reserve system. – Larry Summers, Sunday, on AIG’s payment of executive bonuses
Salon: Mr Liddy needs to be reminded that it was the people of the United States that ponied up the cash his company needed to stay afloat after all the people he claims deserve these bonuses nearly burned the global economy to the ground.
The autoworkers deserve no less than equal treatment that these so-called “too big to fail” global corporations who obviously live in a different world, with different rules as long as their getting way ahead of the average citizen.
To suggest that the autoworkers must hand over massive contract concessions as a condition of receiving government assistance is unfair and clearly undemocratic. Especially when most of these so-called too big fail corporations have all but told the American people to fuck off and die when asked about transparency and accountability for the BILLION$ of tax payer money that been poured into these financial blackholes.
It’s time the citizens of the world demanded equal status and treatment at the bailout table. After all it’s OUR MONEY! Not President Obama’s, Not the Fed’s and certainly NOT these pathetically greedy and corrupt corporations’.
The people of the free world have absolutely NO responsibility what-so-ever for the profitability or survivability of these corporations. Too big to fail is the new WMDs in Iraq! Please!
It always strikes me as odd that individuals like Mr. Liddy are usually the first to claim that the free-market should be left to sort out the weak from the strong until corporations like his screw themselves to the point of complete collapse then the free-marketers run screaming to the government demanding they save the very gilded positions these assholes completely burned to the ground.
Stand up and fight back for your children and their children.
Act Loud. Act Large. Act NOW!
